Hoffburg Palace – when we visited there was an Austrian army open day in the square complete with flying fox

Haschmarkt – for produce and flea market on Saturdays – it was huge and extended at least two street blocks

Ronacher Theatre where we saw Dance of the Vampire – it was themed with red lights inside and out
Spiettleburg – an artist’s area with galleries.

Very quiet when we visited

Vienna is such a beautiful city. Apart from museums and galleries, there are also fantastic shopping arcades. Streets radiate out from St Stephen’s Cathedral and at the end of each street there is always a glimpse of another beautiful old building. There has been a lot of work going on around Stephensplatz – renovations to the cathedral, laying paving and today planting established deciduous trees along Margaretstrasse.
