Anthony and I are sitting, relaxing, finally, in the Air New Zealand lounge at the airport – still a couple of hours before boarding.
We’ve had our three “bad” things happen so I know the holiday will be great! Yesterday we found theWoolworths global roaming SIM didn’t fit our new iPhone 5s. At security I very nearly had a panic attack when I couldn’t find my passport despite it being in my hand just moments before. And Anthony discovered that he had left his Kindle at home!
But luck was with us. We still had our old iPhone 3S which hadn’t yet been recycled and it did take the new SIM. Anthony had put the passport in his coat pocket for safe keeping when he saw me put it down unattended, and a couple of gin and tonics are certainly good for settling the nerves! And there are hundreds of books to be purchased at the airport so Anthony can still read voraciously but abandon the books wherever we are at the time!
It still feels unreal to be here. Business class comes with quite a few perks – we were the first in line at check-in – did you know that they even have a carpet that you walk along to check in? We also got priority through customs but lost time when we queued through security, and we get free entry into the Air New Zealand lounge (they code share with Ethiad airways).
So some Thai beef curry, chicken wings, some nice cheeses and did I mention the gin and tonics? and it feels like holidays are really here

Wow Sounds like a wonderful adventure Teresa and Anthony. I look forward to a wonderful vicarious experience. Enjoy:)

I concur Niole as I sit in my messy house wondering where do I begin with all the de-cluttering and emptying of cupboards before I begin a kitchen renovation! Just an idea I had as I started my LSL. Imagine where I might be flying on a kitchen renovation budget?!! Oh well, maybe next time.
that Business class upgrade sounds wonderful as do the GnTs that seem to have gained a number of mentions!!!
Enjoy – very exciting

Thanks Maria. This may be a once in a lifetime experience unless we win lotto! Hope our renovations are relatively painless.
