Lyme Regis is a pretty seaside town made famous in Fowler’s The French Lieutenant’s Woman and Jane Austen’s Persuasian and more recently in the novel about Mary Anning, Remarkable Creatures by Tracey Chevalier.
The town is popular year round with families, tourists and dog walkers. There are also lots of great walks for trampers. But for “urban trampers” like us, there wasn’t a lot open. Unfortunately the Lyme museum was closed for renovations and most cafes don’t open till 12pm. But it was nice to walk along The Cob and eat fish and chips on the beach. We also found a great second-hand dealer on the beach where Anthony found an antique silver tea strainer and cufflinks made from scrabble pieces.
Disappointingly I’m also unable to access the images from my camera – the camera connector is only picking up images from internal storage and not the SD card.

Looking forward to seeing the cufflinks😊

Pity about the service at the River Cottage Canteen – hope the cake was worthwhile!
We loved Lyme Regis too – very quaint seaside town and you can see back along the Jurassic Coast to the beach where they made the Broadchurch series.
Glad you found some treasure at the antique dealer – he was shut the day we were there.

Happy New Year , Intrepid Travelers. Bath is my favourite city outside of London in the UK. Sounds like you are having a very relaxed trip. Bristol is worth a visit, if it isn't a stretch too far on a short day. I hope the coat is getting a good workout Teresa. Love to you both , Boronia xxx
